WUSHU CHAMPION SUFFERS SERIOUS NECK INJURY

A WUSHU champion has had to be flown back to the UK after suffering a neck injury.

Richard Devine, 23, of Carlisle, Cumbria suffered the injury while on a training trip to Moscow, Russia.

However, according to the News and Star newspaper, the Wushu champion suffered the injury while on a trampoline.

For 66 Years, a Force for Judo in the United States

Yoshihiro Uchida celebrated his 92nd birthday on Sunday.

Even more impressive is that for 66 of his years, Uchida has been coaching judo at San Jose State University. He built the program into a national power and has almost single-handedly elevated the stature and visibility of judo in the United States.

Uchida, a Japanese-American, has also been a model of determination and has had a knack for transforming obstacles into opportunity and using an opponent’s momentum to his advantage.

The recent news of the Thai Government’s decision to “ban” the sport of MMA came as a surprise to many. Judging by the buzz in various online forums, the decision has been very polarizing. The general consensus from the Muay Thai “purists” seems to be that the Government’s decision was not only just, but welcome. In their eyes, MMA was slowly eroding the quality of Muay Thai.
